Nevertheless, that didn’t mean she couldn’t deny it which made her reply with a confident tone, “I’m not sure I do.”“You and Ava.”That was the smoking gun. The statement made a lifetime of traumatic memories rush through her mind. Taking a sharp intake of breath, she quickly denied the accusation, stating,“It’s a misunderstanding. It’s my duty to worry about the Warrior Nun and her safety. There’s nothing more to it.”“There’s no shame in it,” Camila replied, hopping off the examination table to walk up to her. Of course, Camila would say something like that. Like Ava, she was a good listener and a great confidante. That made the coil in Beatrice’s stomach fade and she heaved a sigh of relief.
