Proverbs

The sun had yet to crest over the horizon, though glimmers of its arrival began to litter across the murky grey clouds, tainting the monochrome sky with splatters of soft pink. This quiet wouldn’t last long, not with the sun beginning to rise. All they could do was wait and enjoy the peace whilst they could. There wasn’t a need for words, after all, it would break the silence they so desperately ran towards. Nothing needed to be said, for they both knew, both understood the beauty that lingered in the white flakes, knew that the waves that raged beneath their skin had calmed into lulling swells.
