when eighteen approaches

Teardrops that were dancing along Izuku’s eyelashes fell slowly onto the faded photograph he was clutching tightly in his scarred, callused hands.  Through his blurred, teary eyes, he brought his gaze back towards the image in front of him.  An old photo of him and his mom; he was roughly five or six if he had to guess.Where did the years go? He was turning eighteen in a few weeks; he remembers.The boy who held Japan on his trembling shoulders would no longer be a kid.  Though he probably lost that title the moment they sent him off to war.  To defeat the world’s biggest supervillain and lose others close to him.(or, Izuku's a few weeks away from becoming an adult, something he wasn't entirely looking forward to. Thankfully, his mom has always done a good job at cheering him up).
