Summary
Two penguins in an enclosure meet in the middle of the night. Their enclosure has a view of the city. At night it's wonderful. The lights twinkle on, one, two, sometimes three at a time, a galaxy of artificial light in a spectrum of dancing colours. The penguins would meet where they could enjoy nothing but the fantastic view and each other's company. They had only each other. A fascinating platonic coupling, a story that drew in many who visited the enclosure, tourist, animal-lover and researcher alike. They would watch as the two penguins stared at the view together in what was a surprisingly human display of platonic affection and comfort. A quiet lamentation. Coping together, as humans themselves were tend to do.
