Summary
“What’s that smell?” Billy asks from the front door.
“Nothing," Alan replies hastily. Damn this. "There is no smell."
He wonders whether there’s time to hide evidence at this culinary crime scene before it's too late. Footsteps quicken down the hallway, proof Billy can be far too inquisitive for his own good.
“Hm,” Billy hums, seconds away from walking into this major catastrophe. “It smells like burning to me…”
“Nothing is burning.”
Technically, it’s the truth. The burning stopped roughly twenty minutes ago.
Not only are Alan's efforts in the kitchen entirely wasted, he also has a witness. So much for romantic gestures.
