A Happy Coincidence And

Khalid looked different in the light of day. There was every chance that he was wrong, but to Dimitri’s eye… all the nervousness that he expected to see on someone walking into a symposium uninvited was present on Khalid’s face now. The Persian prince had shown up at his door looking so poised and suave and self-assured. But meeting him here in the market, it seemed that Khalid was the one taken by surprise. It was a bit jarring, honestly, seeing him in the crowds of the Agora. Perhaps Dimitri had just been drunk, but the only images he could conjure of Khalid were ones of a confident, charismatic beauty illuminated by moonlight. Seeing him under the light of the sun exposed a completely different side of him.But not one that Dimitri liked any less.“I didn’t expect I’d see you here.”“Nor I, you. A happy coincidence, is it not?”----He'd have to thank Edelgard for making him leave the house.
