Summary
The blame for this one goes to my mother. Some decades back, I was watching a ballet version of "The Tempest" on television. Mom happened to come into the room while Prospero and Ariel were dancing a pas de deux. She commented that it was unusual to see two men dancing together like that in ballet and then left. I've wondered about the relationship between Prospero and Ariel ever since.
The fic will make a great deal more sense if you've read at least a synopsis of Shakespeare's play.
John's costume in this production was borrowed from A Midsummer Night's Team by mific. Black feathers? Spirit of the air? John? They all just seemed to go together.
