Finding Venus

“Everyone else has gone out.” She awkwardly shifted from one foot to the other, a shy smile on her face as he beckoned her to take a seat.“She’s beautiful, don’t you think?” Bella's eyes shifted onto the portrait and it felt like her body was set aflame. Every part of her brain fixated on the womens eyes. Every brush stroke pulled you in and endeared you to her, and yet, she was a stranger.“Who is she?” A nostalgic smile graced his lips as he thought of what he’d tell her. She’d be his son's wife in mere weeks, so telling her of his family wasn’t completely ridiculous, but he wanted to keep some things close to his un-beating heart.“Did Edward ever tell you how I was turned, dear Bella?”
