Ice Skate Date

Both boys pull on their skates, tying the laces and then standing up. Their eyes linger on each other for a moment, but no words are exchanged. They just stare at each other silently for a few seconds before Newt reaches forward and takes Thomas’s hand gently. Thomas’s breath hitches before relaxing when Newt squeezes his hand gently.“Let’s get going.” Newt quietly insists, tugging the brown haired boy’s hand until they were both stepping into the rink. Newt smiles softly at Thomas, squeezing his hand again.
