Kazuki's voice sounded so strangled, so empty, so unfamiliar perhaps due to the shock, he didn't show any kind of emotion, he didn't change his posture either, he simply held Rei’s gaze as if he did not understand what the younger just said before, Rei pursed his lips in a thin line trying to hide the emotions inside his soul and raised one of his hands to put it on the older's hair, he, who had never been fond of physical contact was trying to comfort his partner in the only way he knew, all of these feelings were new and foreign to him so he just kept caressing the blond strands softly and whipping the forming tears in his own eyes with his free hand.“I’m gonna bring our daughter back”He was met with a broken and painful smile and deep down he knew that Kazuki was exhausted, he didn’t have the strength to fight anymore.“I’m so tired, Rei”
