Summary

(a/n: Don't steal or plagiarize.〆(・⺫・‶)This fandom is small; bullying makes it smaller. Support the stories/art/pods that've inspired your own and credit the artists whose ideas you've taken. Spread SoRiku (˘ 3˘(‿|‿)(´ڡ`ԅ) spread them far and wide.)

It does feel like they haven’t seen each other. Riku was too busy working on his short story, too busy sharing it with Kairi then too busy being stolen from and betrayed and rejected and anxious, suffering alone even though Sora’s here and ready to listen.

Sora pulls away, asks, “What’s wrong?”

Riku’s perseverating again. His lips gave him away; they had stopped moving. “Nothing.” He leans in.

Sora pulls back. “Riku…”

He wants the sweetness of Sora’s tongue and not the bitterness of what’s happened, but Riku says, “Kairi got published with my idea” because he wants to get it off his chest, and Sora's pure presence feels like the safe cover of a private sanctuary.

Riku's stuck on a depressing truth he's recently learned and (belatedly) realizes Sora's influence is just the dopamine hit his brain critically needs. Luckily, Sora realizes it too.
