death and requiem

Lily has always figured that it didn’t matter how upset or angry she was with him currently, how utterly disappointed she was with his life choices (because she knows Regulus could’ve done better, as he’d proven to her that he could be better if he wanted to, only he didn’t, he didn’t, and now he’s dead), she thought that at least, at the end of that road, they each would live long enough to try to figure out where to take things from there. If they wanted to solve their issues, to try to mend the past. But now they can’t even do that, because he’s dead, and she is alive, although she doesn’t feel like it most days, like the day she got that cursed letter, a part of her died too along with him.
