Summary
Crowley checked his watch as the customer’s heels clicked into the shop. She’d been at it for seventy minutes. She’d so far attempted to pay by credit card, cheque and cash, only to be told Aziraphale was out of 20p coins and couldn't possibly accept tips. She clutched a bag by her side. Crowley was amused to note it held a dirty magazine from next door.“Here,” she said. “£74.80 precisely.”Aziraphale beamed at her, so brightly there should have been dust motes whirling in his smile. “I’m so sorry, madam. If only you’d returned before I closed the register.”Something made Crowley feel prickly and uncomfortable and like he was melting. It was weird, and he wasn’t sure he liked it.
