we were boys together

“You wanna throw or catch?” asked Wilbur.“I can catch.”Wilbur under-arm threw the mitt, but somehow managed to launch it in the air about twenty feet high and had it land ten feet behind Techno, right next to the foundation of the house. Someone who cared more probably would’ve noted it would be smarter to have the thrower stand in front of the house and the catcher by the trees. Better yet, someone who cared more would’ve suggested they play catch horizontally in the yard. That was how, on the very first toss, the ball shot past Techno’s face and straight through the kitchen window. It was the shortest and only game of catch they would ever play.“Oh fuck! Oh fuck!” Wilbur shrieked. “Techno, what did you do?”“What? Me?” Techno squawked. “You’re the one who chucked the ball into the window!”“You were supposed to catch it! It’s a game of catch!”//or, after the death of his mother, Techno moves to a new town and has to deal with the shenanigans of his new next door neighbors, Wilbur, Phil, and Tommy.
