Summary
“So, what’s your name? And what brings you here?”
“You’re a curious one.” She wasn’t even looking at Claude as she spoke, instead watching the bartender work.
“Heh, I wouldn’t say that. More like, you’re an interesting one.” Claude smirked. “It’s rare to find someone carrying a magic sword out in the open, and rarer still for that someone to not be mobbed by attention.”
“Like what you are doing right now?”
“Got me there.” Claude feigned a pained expression as he slapped a hand over an imaginary chest wound. “But I’m not wrong, am I?”
Their conversation was interrupted by two cups sliding their way, brimming with frothy brew. The swordswoman took a moment to drink from it before replying back.
“I suppose not. You can call me Byleth. What business do you have with me?”
Claude, an adventurer down on his luck, thinks he scores big when he not only recruits a beautiful woman with a magical sword, but also takes on the woman's mission to infiltrate a masquerade ball and stop a cult from killing all the guests. However, quests are rarely so straightforward, and the woman, Byleth, is more than she seems. Much more.
