He'd always been irritable. Could get irritated by the temperature going a little too far either way, someone's tone of voice, an item of clothing annoyingly scratching him the wrong way, dropping something at just the wrong time for it to be minorly infuriating, the volume of certain things pounding within his head, etc. But everyone got annoyed a little bit sometimes and despite his specific vulnerability to being irritated, he could push through it, does push through it, will push through it.
