Summary
"Careful, Bella."Maya looked up and her breath was taken away. Effortless. She was effortless. Maya had been right about the smile. It was almost a grin. Pearlescent teeth poked out from perfectly tinted lips. The corners of her eyes turned upwards with it, crinkling just a little. Maya had always loved this feature. Her eyes had always been so expressive. Maya recalled how they looked like pools of rich chocolate when they were full of desire, or turned dark amber in the sun. She remembered the way they would darken with anger. With a pang she realised that's how she had remembered them; dark, angry. They weren't that now. They were back to dark amber and melted chocolate. Happy. Her skin was more tanned than she remembered, kissed by the sun. The beauty mark. That damn beauty mark, that she always used to kiss was darker. More prominent. Or maybe her eyes were just automatically drawn to it. Maybe her eyes just wanted to appreciate it again after so long without it.orMaya and Carina haven't seen each other in two years, what happens when they see each other for the first time since..Originally posted this on my One Shot book but felt like it deserved its own post.
