Summary
The only thing Simon Monroe hates more than his job, where he's stuck working at a small cafe with the most annoying boss in the world, is all things fall, especially Halloween. So nobody (except perhaps his friend and co-worker Amy Dyer, who seems to be oblivious of his hatred towards the holiday) is surprised when he shows up to work on the day before Halloween in the worst mood imaginable.
But then Amy invites Kieren, a young homeless boy she finds outside, in for a cup of hot chocolate and a chance to warm up, and Simon suddenly finds himself struggling to keep his bad attitude.
