This Must Be My Dream

“I had a dream about you.” Wilbur says quietly to the ceiling, running a hand along the young teens back.“Yeah?” Tommy replies, his voice muffled by Wilbur’s sweater, due to the way his face is currently squished against the man’s chest. Wilbur could tell the kid was falling asleep but if he wanted to say what he needed to say then he had to do it now, before he chickened out again.Wilbur nods, biting at his bottom lip as he lies there, internally debating if telling Tommy was really worth it. “I feel like you’ll think it’s weird.”Tommy snorts, shifting slightly in Wilbur’s hold as he tries to get more comfortable. “Wil, at this point I’ve seen you do a lot of weird shit, I can’t imagine there’s much that will throw me for a loop.”Or, Wilbur and Tommy have been neighbors since day one. Wilbur was always more of a parent to Tommy than Tommy’s real parents. It all comes to light after a dream.
