Ribs

Did something happen?” Miguel asks slowly “If someone hurt you I’ll yell at them.” And now he’s the one giving Miguel an odd look “Something did happen, you were there remember? Daniel made me spar with Eli blindfolded, he kicked me into the weird rock thingy and broke my ribs.”The incredulity is creeping in as he stares at his boyfriend. Emotions are flickering rapidly across his face and when he speaks his voice does the weird pitchy thing it always does when he’s freaked out. Usually it’s his fault but he honestly can’t imagine what’s making Miguel act like that now. “Your ribs are broken!” he squeaks out like it’s somehow news to him.For a second Robby almost doubts that he was there but no he distinctly remembers Miggy helping him up and giving him water and holding his hand through the agonizing car ride home. “Yeah you were there” he repeats slowly as frantic brown eyes flicker down to where his hand is pressed tightly to his good side to try and balance. “You said you were okay!”
