Ashes in my Wake

Wylan learns he knows nothing, because that is what he is taught. He learns some people cannot be taught, because they never learn. He learns he isn't worth teaching. They teach him he is nothing and he learns it well. He learns fear too, in the swish of the cane, and the weighted steps of those boots, and the clink of the glass that spills with wine that smells like death and drips like blood.Wylan is never taught to burn. That he learns all on his own.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________The one in which Wylan takes after his Father more than he'd like.
