Everyone looks at Beatrice curiously and then to Ava as she takes the javelin in hand after giving Mary back her crossbow. “Fine. How do I throw this thing?”Beatrice steps behind her and positions Ava’s arm in the proper position. Ava gulps as she feels Beatrice’s hands hover over longer than needed. Her eyes flicker up to find Beatrice’s, who is looking at her intensely just mere inches from her.The javelin waivers in her grip, teetering at the end.Beatrice takes a step back, exhaling to collect herself. “Extend your arm quickly and deliberately, releasing the javelin just before you’ve extended your reach.”Ava nods and stares the target down. Just one throw and then she can go back to the one thing she managed to do okay with.Ava bends back, extends, and releases the javelin in one smooth motion. Wind blows wildly as it flies forward. The javelin she expected to land a few feet from her goes a lot farther. It zips through the air, hitting the target dead center, before barreling through it into a weapons rack a few yards behind it.Everyone stands in shock.“What the fuck?” Mary whispers.
