The intensity of the look made Izuku’s stomach flip and twist, pinning him in place; Katsuki was looking at him as if he were a puzzle to solve, a mystery to dissect. It was confusing—unnerving—and made him feel more than a bit vulnerable. But it was also short-lived. The intensity of Katsuki’s stare lessened—softened—as he tilted his head, eyebrows flicking up ever-so-slightly, and Izuku recognized the questioning look for what it was.
He shook his head, shrugging, easily dismissing Katsuki’s concern with a silent I’m fine.
Izuku saw the twitch of his eyes narrowing—weighing his answer—but then Katsuki’s attention was being drawn away by Eijiro, signaling he was apparently satisfied with whatever conclusion he had managed. Izuku blew out a huff of a breath, cheeks expanding around the exhale, and a bit of the tension drained from his shoulders. That was close.
