Spring is Coming

For as long as Shion could remember the city of Kronos had been trapped in a cycle of never-ending winter. The trees leaves had always remained bare and thick blankets of snow covered the ground rather than greenery. His mother had spoken about those times before. Her words painted beautiful images of a rainbow of flowers, the blue skies, the way the tree’s leaves would become red, orange and yellow in the fall. Shion had seen paintings of the other seasons but none of them seemed to compare to the images in his mind. As he worked in the back Shion couldn’t help but think of those beautiful images of spring, long for a time he couldn’t remember.
