Damian didn't know how to react to this message and slowly brought a hand to his chest to rest it at heart level. Jon had told him repeatedly that he knew his heartbeat, had memorized it, and had embarrassingly admitted to listening to it from time to time to make sure he was okay, but Damian had always believed he was joking and just teasing him. That silly farm boy really had managed to completely destabilize him and mess with his every thought. He could almost picture him right now: his head resting on his shoulders, a hand massaging his neck, the blush adding color to the flecks of freckles on his cheeks and nose, the hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth and a partial glimpse of the whiteness of his teeth as he said these things to himself and shrugged the dark, unruly curls from his forehead, giving him an embarrassed and adorable expression. One moment. Did he just think he found Jon "adorable"?
