Closure

“Why didn’t you choose me for your squad?” she questioned. Tears pricked her eyes but she fought them back. His decision had hurt her more than she would like to admit. But she was here to get answers and she couldn’t afford to be sentimental.“I didn’t choose many other scouts yet none of them came whining to me.” He rolled his eyes, hoping she would leave. The Special Operations Squad was due to depart first thing in the morning. His insomnia prevented him from resting so the least he could have was some peace of mind, and her presence was giving him anything but that.“Members of mediocre performance! I am one of the best and you damn well know that!” she shouted, slapping her hands on the desk.“Your shitty performance is for me to rate and for you to work on. So focus on doing your pathetic part and let me do mine as I see fit.” He indifferently brushed his sleeve to remove some imaginary fluff, showing her directly that he had no interest in this conversation and that she was merely wasting his time.
