Summary
Jack knew he had a habit of misinterpreting situations. Because of this, he'd made a checklist of sorts to help himself look at things in different ways so that he wouldn't jump the gun. He still did sometimes, sure, but nobody's perfect.
No matter how he looked at it, though, all the evidence pointed to something being wrong. What he didn't know was what was wrong, and that made him all the more frustrated.
He recounted the facts to himself.
"No missed calls in a week,
the most messages he's sent in a day this week was, like, ten,
he's been a lot more silent than usual lately,
and he hasn't even made up a new nickname for himself within the last two weeks."
Jack thought about this, like he had been for the past few days, and came to the same conclusion.
"Something is definitely wrong."
———Essentially, Dave wants to die for a while but greatly underestimates just how much his boyfriend doesn't want him to die. Emotions ensue!
