Summary
Achilles angled his head away. “I guess it wouldn’t matter. Soulmates are stupid, anyway.”
The ghost of a smile played on Patroclus’s lips. “So, what are you saying? Screw soulmates? You can’t just do that, Achilles. You can’t just go and say, ‘fuck fate.’”
“Yeah,” Achilles said after a long moment of silence. “Fuck fate.”
And then he wrapped his arm around Patroclus’s neck and kissed him.
Everyone is born with a clock on their wrist that counts down until the second they meet their soulmate. Achilles — who Patroclus has known since the second they were born — and Patroclus's clocks have always been at zero. Patroclus always assumed this meant they didn't have soulmates, until a kiss proves otherwise.or, Achilles and Patroclus are a pair of idiots. But they figure it out, eventually.
