Eight of Cups

Yuuri is seventeen, and he needs to win at the next regionals. If he doesn't, he'll no longer be eligible for that scholarship, will have to study locally instead of internationally, and can kiss his figure skating career goodbye! In an attempt to cheer him up, his childhood friend, Yuuko, takes him to a summer festival, where they encounter an unnerving fortune teller, who claims to be able to predict your soulmate using the tarot. The reading upsets Yuuri, but tarot is all a bunch of nonsense, right?Several years later, a twenty-seven-year-old Victor is preparing for this year's upcoming Grand Prix. He's dragged his young rival, Yuri Plisetsky, along to a Christmas market in St. Petersburg, seeking a little excitement and street food. There, they encounter a mysterious Japanese fortune teller, who gives him a reading stating his soulmate may be closer than he thinks! The prospect is fun, but as Yuri keeps telling him, tarot is stupid and means nothing, and he's an idiot for even thinking it could be true.
