Summary
Painted Post grew in number, people living in far too close quarters, trying to survive. Trying to make do with what supplies and food they had. They were managing. No one was going hungry, they had enough medical aid to survive. Generators and solar power and a dodgy but decent enough connection to a local wind turbine. It was for everyone’s own good. That the world outside would do whatever they could to destroy this virus, they had to, but it would always be at the expense of the innocents. Of those too slow, or too unable to escape. There were talks already, through the rare chances they’d had to hear from governments and world organisations, of just razing America to the ground and starting again. That by now, they’d all been given up on as a lost cause, that it was only death and an endless trawl of zombies. But in amongst it all, for now at least, there was a shred of hope.
