There is little in life that spurs about Prince Ritsuka’s joy. Between the pressure of being royalty and the choking lack of freedom, Ritsuka has well given up on dreaming of anything he truly desires. Not even the grand royal ball set for his 20th birthday can keep him spirited.To make matters worse, Ritsuka does not have a say in the arrangement of his birthday ball—or so seems to be the case, until he is entrusted with a single decision: choosing a singer for the orchestra. And yet, Ritsuka is hardly elated with this freedom, because he has never liked music in the first place.But on a fateful evening, Ritsuka sneaks out of his chambers. With the solitude he is finally granted, he roams the palace with no particular reason in mind. Then, from somewhere within the dark night, he hears someone sing.And that is the beginning of the story—the story of flowers.
