Summary
She didn't tell her. Elesa lost her nerve at the last second and didn't tell Skyla how she really felt. She saw it in Skyla's eyes, that mix of understanding and disappointment, but still she smiled her radiant smile. Skyla bid farewell, took off on her Swanna, and she was gone in the sky.But past a few hours of lamenting and self-lambasting, Elesa can at least comfort herself knowing she can try again. There was always tomorrow. She'll make her feelings known eventually. Amidst that consideration, Elesa receives a phone call, not for a second imagining how quickly the news she gets could crumble her entire world.Skyla never came home.
