Jiang Cheng didn’t really believe in the monster under the bed. He was much bigger now and he didn’t need anyone to tuck him in or even come check on him at night.That didn’t stop him from running and jumping into bed every evening. His feet never touched the floor right by the bed, not until it was morning and sunlight was coming in the windows.Everyone knew monsters didn’t like sunlight.Still, sometimes he whispered to the monster empty room once he was in bed.“Sorry,” Jiang Cheng said. “I can’t let you eat me yet. Maybe next time.”
