Summary
Fictionalised events in the life of Cesare Borgia, based on Fuyumi Soryo's ”Cesare” (one of the most criminally underrated manga I have ever read) in a His Dark Materials Daemon AU. There is plenty of outlandish speculation and rumour surrounding the Borgias, the “original crime family", and while much remains ambiguous, I have tried to stay as true to history as possible (aside from the daemons). I will include most of my sources in the notes of each chapter plus a rundown of historical facts vs fiction. Stick around for a lush portrayal of Renaissance Italy, historical references, daemons, and ofc Cesare and Michelotto.
