Sunshine in Halcyon Days

The thing about halcyon days that never seems apparent to you when you are living them is the inevitable end. By definition, these days are bound to conclude - some in tragedy, some in monotony, and some in a fashion not unlike a sunset. In the case of Monkey D. Luffy, he can hardly remember when the transition occurred. There are some echoing shadowy memories in his mind from years past of running through the sun washed fields with his brothers in tow. Days when the sun stretched endless in its rays, and the laughter never seemed to end.In order to save his country from the almost decade long war it had become ensnared in, Luffy agrees to an arranged marriage with a man he has never met. He finds courage in the fact that even if the sunshine has been eclipsed, his actions can make the light reach his home once again. Finding love along the way just happens to be an unexpected bonus.
