Summary
The day that Jim returned from Tarsus IV, his mother, of Swedish descent, called him a “Maskrosbarn”. A dandelion child. Because his seed had landed, not in a lucious, green field, but the crack of a sidewalk. Grey, monochrome, hopeless. She called him a dandelion child because he still grew. Because he still bloomed, yellow as the sun.Back then, he wore the praise with pride, as if it cast him in a golden light, brighter than a star. He was so proud that he could be strong, despite the pain and because of it. He used that mentality to keep himself afloat once the joy of his return had worn off. Once Frank and Winona returned to their ways of beating him to a pulp. Only now, too scared from the colony to fight back, he took the beatings, and found a new way to cope. A single pack of cigarettes hidden in his back pocket, but not to smoke. He was determined to be a dandelion. He thinks something inside him still is. or Jim got told he was a dandelion child when he was young and it fucked with his head. These are basically a series of short moments where he deals with the consequences of it.(please read the tags for TWs and CWs)
