Summary
He slowly leads a blindfolded Melinoë outside of the original bounds, hands gently placed on her shoulders and stepping carefully so as not to step on each other’s feet.
“Just a bit more, Mel,” he says. He can’t help but grin, entirely too excited for Melinoë’s reaction.
“We’ve been walking a while, Icarus. I do hope we haven’t gotten lost.”
“Not at all—I know these parts well, rest assured.”
Just as they get to the clearing, he stops them. A halo of light shines around a willow tree—or whatever counts for that here in the Underworld. Icarus takes an unnecessary deep breath, an act born out of habit if anything. Then, he carefully unties the blindfold.
