Summary

Lord Remington was a prospect, but he was not bringing the energy to the courtship. He was pleasant and he had witty things to say. He was also happy to see her. It did not feel like it was enough to trust her step. Lord Debling was saying everything well. He was honest with her, and he valued her honesty. He was not easily embarrassed or upset. He did not seek to save her from Cressida, because he was looking for a wife who could fend for herself. Then there was Colin, and she did not have adjectives for him. He was on her like she was a dangerous animal. He had greeted her politely, declared his love rather loudly, and signed for his two dances. She had thought she would see him several times through the night. Instead, Colin Bridgerton was a grey streak of violent temper walking around the dancers with his long paces lining up with her spins. He was never out of her sight, as she was never out of his. He was not trying to stop her dances, because he would have met her eyes and asked for her to beg off. He was looking at her body, and revoking points from their friendship for her hands on her partner.
