Summary
It was a fateful day that saw King Jaehaerys heed the wisdom of the Good Queen and name his eldest grandchild as his heir.To the consternation of many southron lords, the king put to the annals the following resolution:“Henceforth, the Heir to the Iron Throne shall be the firstborn child of the sitting monarch, be they male or female, so long as they are suited to the role, which shall be determined jointly by the King and Queen. All true born children to the Heir shall bear the name Targaryen. The House Targaryen shall reign supreme in perpetuity.”-Law of Succession signed by Jaehaerys Targaryen, 101 AC
