Summary
Buck stands there for a long few moments, and Eddie pretends he isn’t watching Buck watch him. Buck knows, though. Buck always knows. “Are you–”“You don’t have to ask to use the shower,” Eddie cuts him off. Seems like they’re doing this dance again. And because God personally hates Eddie Diaz, Buck clears his throat and says, “You’re going to talk to me.” Eddie slides his eyes over. Buck has a towel wrapped around his neck, his hands on his hips. “After I shower, though. I don’t want to get sweat all over your couch.”Eddie looks back up and blinks at the ceiling, cursing himself. Why can’t he just act normal, for once in his life? Why does he have to feel everything so strongly? Why does his entire life seem destined to shatter over and over again, even when he thinks he has it carefully reconstructed? Buck leaves the room without waiting for a response; he probably knew he wasn’t going to get one.
