Marinette bolted through the dark alley, racing from cover to cover, her breath ragged from exhaustion. As she sat behind cover, her eyes darted around full of vigilance for any sign of further pursuit.The city, which she once loved, was now unrecognizable to her. Each street, each corner, each alley all hid a potential threat to her. A war zone full of greed and desire.Gone were her carefree days, gone were any villains, and gone were any smiles and laughter. Everything used to be fun, swinging from rooftop to rooftop and battling cartoonish looking villains, but now all that remained was an unending nightmare. A sick, twisted game of survival with no end in sight besides death.
