Promise of Tomorrow

As though Eddie can feel Buck’s gaze, he looks up and tries to shrug but winces. Buck’s feet move him toward Eddie without conscious thought and Buck begins to take stock of Eddie: sweat covered, right arm in a sling, lacerations on his arm, face, neck.“What happened?” Buck demands softly, his urgency dissipated somewhat now that he sees Eddie’s alive. And knowing they have an audience. They can’t continue to give the other houses more fodder for the rumor mill. Or betting pool. Or bingo sheet.orEddie is injured on a call, Buck is worried and tries to play it cool and fails pretty miserably.
