Summary
Everything is easy with Aisha and it shouldn't be. He's lying about who he is and what he does, but nothing feels like a lie. He tells her he's tired of feeling his entire family's expectations on his shoulders and it's a lie (is it, though?) and she squeezes his hand and tells him about her desperate desire to prove herself right to her family. How they're just expecting her downfall, to take her back with a fond i-told-you-so and put her back into the family engine, a cog back in its place. She asks him if he's got siblings and she shakes her head; he tells her he's got only one older brother who passed away before he was born, the looming shadow his existence casts over his life and the expectations his parent's have placed on him. None of it is even a lie. Then it all goes to shit.Should've seen that coming, eh?--------OR: How Grey becomes the blood witches leader post s2.
