Birthday Wishes

“Happy birthday to me,” He didn’t have it in him to sing the full song.He leaned forward and blew out the candles. He wished for the same thing he had wished for for the past 7 years. A birthday party with all his friends and family. He didn't care how long he had to wait, as long as he got one day for himself. One day where instead of Izuku giving up every part of himself for the sake of others, people gave back to him.Perhaps he was selfish. But as Izuku sat alone in his dull, grey apartment, lumpy cake sat lamely in front of him, he thought that maybe, just maybe he deserved to have one birthday wish come true.or, a rumination on what birthdays mean to Izuku Midoriya and an exploration into his life post-graduation.
