Summary
The Kodoku is the Japanese name for a bit of East Asian folk magic. Also known as Gu in China, one begins by trapping a large number of venomous bugs in a sealed jar. In order to survive, the bugs would have to hunt, kill, and consume each other. So the stories go, the last bug alive, naturally the strongest would grow stronger still from the conflict and deadlier still from absorbing the venom of its prey.A certain mad geneticist has taken inspiration from that tale, and a teenage runaway has to be the one to deal with it.
