Summary
Cloud Strife, former policeman, visits his friend's grave one dreary day despite a haunting note that discourages him otherwise. He remembers exactly how his partner had died, how his mark of death matched that of a long-wanted serial killer. Even as he treks his way home, random encounters result in his remembrance of a past case that eventually led to the arrest of the murderer. Yet the same note that plagues Cloud suggests that perhaps the criminal was still out there somewhere...and Cloud still isn't safe from death.
