Communications of the

Emilee Vail is a new engineer aboard the SeaQuest. She finds herself drawn to the enigmatic communications officer, Tim O'Neill, because he can speak multiple languages. Tim avoids her at first, not wanting to involve himself in a romance aboard the ship, but they eventually hit it off when he apologizes in Spanish and she responds. He realizes she's not so bad, and they tentatively agree to go on a date during shore leave. The date ends in a disagreement, and the two seemingly go their separate ways until they're forced to do swim trials together. The two bond over their distress and agree to meet the next morning for breakfast. When Emilee doesn't show, Tim goes looking for her and discovers her in the throes of a nightmare. His protective instinct kicks in, and he realizes that maybe getting a second chance with Emilee won't be so bad after all.
