Summary

This was written (wow, forever long ago) for a zine themed to use the Blake's 7 characters in a different historical setting. I chose the Depression in the US, and was quite pleased at how well the personalities and general backstories fit. On re-reading and reformatting the story today, I still find it an entertaining and worthwhile read.

Times are hard, but people don't change. Avon is cynical, but sticks to his own code of morals. Cally is still a firebrand revolutionary, Blake is still an innocent man exiled by a false accusation levied by a corrupt government, Vila is still a cheerful thief whose best friend is Gan, a strong, quiet man, and Jenna drives a taxi (no spaceships in this story.)

The names are changed slightly, but only to fit the times, you'll recognize them easily.
