Another Adventure

"Ah, how appropriate! A spirit of adventure!" Emmrich exclaimed once the boat had pulled up next to the dock.Rook could see that he was gearing up the ask the spirit all sorts of questions, but she wanted hers answered first. She managed to get it out before Emmrich could start his inquiries. "Where is the Caretaker?""The Caretaker?" the spirit repeated. "My, no one has seen them in quite a while," they answered not paying Rook's concerned look any attention. She'd been afraid of that answer and chewed on her lip thoughtfully. She took a seat at the back of the gondola next to Lucanis. Emmrich moved into Rook's spot and struck up a conversation with the spirit just as she'd expected. Lucanis didn't speak at first but just watched Rook as she contemplated what the missing Caretaker could mean. If he wasn't around to take care of the Crossroads it made sense that the blight was creeping in, but where was he?
