He realizes he’s been silent too long, that something damning must be showing on his face, because Silas is looking at him wide-eyed.

“Colum?” Silas’ voice sounds small and childlike. Sometimes Colum forgets how young he is, with the way he comports himself, the intelligent things he says and the eloquence he employs to convey them.

Sometimes he forgets that his uncle is still only thirteen years old.

Colum runs a hand over his face and lets out a heavy sigh. He can’t pretend this is nothing, whatever Silas has seen. It’s too late for that. He’s fucked that up that potential avenue with his too-strong reaction.

At least Capris can’t blame him for the rest of it. Silas didn’t see him doing something questionable with either of his brothers. He has been careful.

“Tell me what you saw, Si.”

Silas sees something he wasn't meant to and learns the Asht brothers' secret. He is less than thrilled with the information.
